Lt General Anil Chauhan (Retired) has been appointed as the next Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) who shall also function as Secretary to Government of India, Department of Military Affairs, with effect from the date of his assumption of charge and until further orders.

The post of CDS was lying vacant since December 8, 2021, when the first CDS General Bipin Rawat was killed in a helicopter accident in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. The post of the CDS was created on 24 December 2019.

In a career spanning nearly 40 years, Lt Gen Anil Chauhan had held several command, staff and instrumental appointments and had extensive experience in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu & Kashmir and North-East India.

Born on 18th May 1961, Lt Gen Anil Chauhan was commissioned into the 11 Gorkha Rifles of the Indian Army in 1981. He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.

Mosso recently caught everyone's attention when she cut her hair on stage in solidarity with the protesters in Iran. Melek's several videos and images went viral in which she is seen standing on the stage holding a pair of scissors and a mic in each of her hands. While the crowd cheers for her, Melek can be seen chopping her hair off.

Akash Ambani, the eldest of two sons of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has found his name on Time magazine's top 100 global rising stars.

Every year, TIME magazine publishes the TIME100 Next, a list--inspired by its flagship TIME100--that recognizes 100 rising stars worldwide.

Akash Ambani is reportedly the only Indian on the list. He graduated from Brown University with a major in Economics.

Credit rating agency ICRA on  sep 29 revised the outlook on Indian airport infrastructure to 'Stable' from 'Negative' amid expectations that passenger traffic will surpass the pre-pandemic level between September this year to August next year.

It also estimates that domestic passenger traffic will reach pre-COVID levels by the March quarter (Q4FY23 vs Q4FY2020) this fiscal year, while the international traffic is expected to see a full recovery in the second quarter of the fiscal year starting April 2023.

He's done it again. Two-time Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge  of Kenya has  bettered his own world record in the Berlin Marathon on  Sep 25.

The Kenyan star clocked 2 hours, 1 minute, 9 seconds to shave 30 seconds off his previous best mark of 2:01:39 set on the same course in 2018.

Ethiopia’s Tigist Assefa unexpectedly won the women’s race in a course record of 2:15:37 – 18 minutes faster than she had ever run before. It was the third fastest time ever.

Kenya’s Rosemary Wanjiru was second on her debut in 2:18:00 – the second fastest debut ever runs – just ahead of Ethiopian runner Tigist Abayechew in 2:18:03.
