The Reserve Bank of India and Bank Indonesia on july 16 entered into an agreement to expand cooperation in payment systems, digital financial innovation, and anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML-CFT).

The two central banks signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Bali on the sidelines of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting to improve mutual cooperation.

The MoU will be implemented through policy dialogue, technical cooperation, exchange of information and joint work.

It was signed by RBI Deputy Governor Michael Debabrata Patra and BI Deputy Governor Dody Budi Waluyo in the presence of RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das and BI Governor Perry Warjiyo.

The RBI further said the MoU will also provide a good basis for promoting mutual understanding, developing efficient payment systems, and achieving cross-border payment connectivity.

Such initiatives, it said, will be executed through regular interaction on recent economic and financial developments and issues; technical cooperation through training and joint seminars; and joint work to explore the establishment of cross-border retail payment linkages.

BMW Motorrad India launched the first-ever BMW G 310 RR in India. India is the first country to welcome the third and latest member of the highly successful BMW 310 model series.

The bike is available at BMW Motorrad India dealerships from  july 17 onwards. The BMW G 310 RR has been jointly developed by BMW Motorrad and cooperation partner TVS Motor Company. It is locally produced in India along with BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS by TVS Motor Company in Hosur.

The first-ever BMW G 310 RR will be offered in two variants. The ex-showroom prices are as follows: The BMW G 310 RR - INR 285,000 and The BMW G 310 RR Style Sport - INR 299,000.

A prominent Indian-American finance executive, Naureen Hassan, has been appointed President of UBS Americas and CEO of UBS Americas Holding, according to the Switzerland-based financial giant.

Currently, Hassan is the first vice president and chief operating officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY).

She will also be serving on UBS Group's Executive Board.

Hassan will join in the leadership role in October this year and will succeed Tom Naratil.

UBS Group AG is a multinational investment bank and financial services company founded and based in Switzerland.

Co-headquartered in the cities of Zurich and Basel, it maintains a presence in all major financial centres as the largest Swiss banking institution and the largest private bank in the world.

She will become a member of UBS's Group Executive Board in October 2022.

Hassan this week stepped down from her role as the First Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer at The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she was the New York Fed's second-ranking officer.

A consortium of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) and Israel’s Gadot Group has bagged the tender to privatise Haifa port, the second-largest port in Israel, for $1.18 billion.

Through the winning bid, the consortium has secured the right to buy 100% shares of Haifa Port Company. The concession period of the port remains up to 2054

APSEZ is the largest port developer and operator in India, with 12 strategically located ports and terminals, representing 24% of the country’s port capacity. 

Double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu lifted the Singapore Open Super 500 trophy after outwitting China's Wang Zhi Yi in an intense women's singles final .

In the hard-fought title clash, Sindhu managed to stay strong in the key moments to come up trumps 21-9 11-21 21-15 against the 22-year-old Wang, the reigning Asian Championships gold medallist.

The title run will be a big boost for Sindhu, who will leading the Indian charge at the Commonwealth Games, starting July 28 in Birmingham.

This was her third title of the season -- having won two Super 300 crowns in Syed Modi International and Swiss Open -- and an addition to her brimming cabinet which has a gold, two silver and two bronze medals from the World Championships besides two Olympic medals.

Athlete Parul Chaudhary finished in 12th position in the 3000m Steeplechase at the World Athletics Championships being held in Oregon on  july 17 .

Parul also clocked a timing of 9:38.09 in her heats and registered her personal best performance in the tournament so far. Competing against World rank No 5 Chemutai of Uganda among others, the Indian athlete stood 12th in the event, which was won by Alice Finot of France.

Earlier, Parul Chaudhary had set a new national record in the women's 3000 metres event at the Sunset Tour in Los Angeles, surpassing the six-year-old record of Suriya Loganathan.

She had clocked 8:57.19 in the women's 3000 m event, surpassing the national record set by Loganathan, who had clocked 9:04.5. Chaudhary was trailing at the fifth spot but gained momentum during the last two laps to earn a third-place finish at the podium.

India's Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar clinched the gold medal in the 50m rifle 3 positions event at the ISSF Shooting World Cup in Changwon

The 21-year-old Indian stamped his class and got the better of 2018 Youth Olympics champion Zalan Peklar of Hungary 16-12 to claim the top prize.

Reigning junior world champion Tomar had earlier topped the qualification round with a score of 593. This was Tomar's second Shooting World Cup gold, having won his first in New Delhi last year.

The Madhya Pradesh shooter's gold was India's fourth in the ongoing competition.

The Indian contingent began its campaign at the 2022 World Shooting Para Sport World Cup with a bang, securing three medals on Day one, with two of them being gold and one silver.

Rahul Jakhar secured a gold medal in the P3 Mixed 25m Pistol SH1 event.

The final scores stood at 27 for Rahul and 24 for Adhana Singhraj, clinching the gold and silver respectively. Ukraine shooter Oleksii Denysiuk finished third with 20 while Nihal Singh finished in the fourth position with 14.

During the team event of P3 Mixed 25m Pistol Team SH1, the Indian trio of Jakhar, Singhraj, and Nihal Singh secured the gold medal with 14. Great Britain scored 12 and ended with the silver medal and Switzerland took home the bronze medal, finishing with nine.
