IAF clears more than 119 routes for commercial flights

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released 119 ‘conditional’ air routes for commercial flight operations, which will bring down consumption of aviation turbine fuel (ATF), and travelling time and cut carbon emissions. The availability of airspace for civilian use will lead to a potential savings of Rs 1,000 crore per annum for airlines.

Delimitation of Jammu and Kashmir constituencies valid, rules Supreme Court

Clearing the decks for elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the Supreme Court on Feb 13 found nothing illegal in the Delimitation Commission redrawing poll constituencies and increasing the Assembly seats from 107 to 114, including 24 seats in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

Only 20 per cent of 10 lakh government schools have internet, Centre tells House

There are over 10 lakh government schools in India, but only 2 lahks have internet facilities, Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar informed the Lok Sabha on Feb 13 . Delhi is the only state where all the 2,762 government schools have internet facilities. In Puducherry (422) and Chandigarh (123) too, all the government schools are equipped with internet connectivity, Sarkar said in a written reply.
