The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)  has revoked the 50% restriction on SpiceJet flights with effect from October 30 even as the loss-making airline continued to report technical malfunctions.

As per the DGCA’s approved winter schedule, SpiceJet would be able to operate 100% of its flights scheduled from October 30.  On July 27 this year, the DGCA had restricted the airline to operate not more than 50% of its flights for a period of eight weeks following a spate of technical glitches mid-air that risked passengers’ lives. This restriction last month was extended till October 29.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was back in Ayodhya after more than two years on  Oct 23 to launch the mega Diwali celebrations Deepotsav in the temple town of Ayodhya.The Prime Minister said Lord Ram’s rule was the inspiration behind his government’s sabka saath, sabka vikas ideal. In a bid to carry out seamless round-the-clock surveillance capability during the current dynamic volatile situation along the Northern Borders and Line of Control the Ministry of Defence intends to procure 1,000 Surveillance Copter with accessories through fast Track Procedure under Emergency Procurement and seeks participation in the procurement process from prospective Bidders subject to requirements in succeeding paragraphs. Another RFP has been issued to procure 80 Mini Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPAs).

Surveillance Copter is an ideal multi-sensor system, to carry out day and night, real-time reconnaissance and surveillance of an area of interest.

The MoD has decided to apportion the quantity between L1 (first lowest bidder) and L2 (second lowest bidder) Bidder(s) in the ratio of 60:40 with L2 matching the negotiated price and terms & conditions of L1 vendor. The CBI has launched ‘Operation Garuda’ with a strong intent to disrupt, degrade, and dismantle networks, with international linkages, involved in drug trafficking. The Interpol channels are used for the exchange of criminal intelligence on drug trafficking and coordinated law enforcement action across international jurisdictions through Interpol. During this special operation, 6600 suspects were checked, 127 new cases were registered, and 175 persons, including six absconders, were arrested.

CBI has also launched ‘Operation Chakra’ to track down cyber criminals who indulge in financial crimes and fraud. This new mission has been launched against cyber-enabled crime networks on the basis of international inputs and in coordination with Interpol, the FBI, and police forces of multiple countries against cyber criminals involved in financial crimes.

The CBI registered 11 cases against cyber criminals involved in financial fraud using the internet and 28 locations were raided by the state police forces. As a result, Interpol was formed at the close of the five days session of the International Criminal Police Commission in September 1923 with headquarters in Vienna.
