·       India's Manika Batra and Archana Kamath tasted their first major success as a pair by winning the women's doubles title at the WTT Contender Lasko in Slovenia  .

·       The world number 36 pairing beat the 23rd-ranked combine of Melanie Diaz and Adriana Diaz from Puerto Rico 11-3, 11-8, 12-10.

• India's woman pistol ace Manu Bhaker and Iran's reigning Olympic champion Javad Foroughi, won the 10M Air Pistol Mixed Team Gold at the ongoing International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) President's Cup Rifle/Pistol in Wroclaw, Poland

• The Indo-Iranian pair got the better of the French-Russian duo of Mathilde Lamolle and Artem Chernousov 16-8 in the gold medal match. Manu and Javad had placed third in the qualification with a combined 582/600 to qualify for the first semi-final where they topped the field of four pairs to make it to the final.

• International Mixed Teams were formed by the ISSF randomly in accordance with the draw.

• Tarak Sinha, the Indian coach with most number of international and first-class cricketers as his disciples, died after a prolonged illness.

• Sinha was a father figure in Delhi's famous Sonnet Club, which has produced some of the country's finest cricketers, who ruled domestic and international cricket.

• Pacer Jasprit Bumrah has became India's leading wicket taker in the shortest format when he dismissed two batters during the T20 World Cup match against Scotland to take his tally to 64 .

• The Gujarat pacer achieved the feat when he castled Mark Watt in the 18th over of the game.

• Bumrah, who had match figures 2/10, now has 64 T20 wickets from 54 matches.

• He surpassed spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who has 63 wickets from 49 matches.

• Debutant Akash Kumar (54kg) signed off with a bronze medal in the AIBA Men's World Boxing Championships after being bested by Kazakh teenager Makhmud Sabyrkhan in the semifinals.

• The 21-year-old Akash lost 0-5 to end India's campaign in the marquee competition, where Akash became only the seventh Indian male boxer to secure a medal. He also claimed a prize money of USD 25,000.
