Xavi Hernandez completes his return to Barcelona as head coach

Xavi Hernandez's return to Barcelona was confirmed, with the former club captain replacing Ronald Koeman as head coach on a three-year contract.

The 41-year-old was given permission to rejoin Barcelona after the Catalan giants agreed to meet the release clause in his contract with Qatari side Al Sadd.

Xavi Hernandez, who played 779 games for Barcelona and won 25 trophies.

The former Spain international had left Barca in 2015 to finish his playing career at Al Sadd before taking over as head coach.

North Korea stages artillery firing drill in latest weapons test

North Korea has conducted artillery firing exercises to bolster its defense capability, state media reported on Nov 7, its latest weapons test as Pyongyang continues to pressure Washington and Seoul to abandon what it calls their hostile policy toward it.

An artillery firing competition among mechanized units was held on Nov 6, with senior government and military officials present.

Leader Kim Jong Un was not mentioned in the report, suggesting he did not observe the training. He supervised a similar artillery firing drill last year.

This year’s drills were designed to inspect the mechanized units’ progress in their mobile combat capabilities and to further intensify competitive training throughout the North’s military

Since September, North Korea has test-launched a series of newly developed missiles, including nuclear-capable weapons that place U.S. allies South Korea and Japan within striking distance.

The North's artillery tests draw less outside attention than its missile tests, particularly ballistic weapons launches that are banned by multiple U.N. Security Council resolutions. But its long-range artillery pieces deployed near the border with South Korea pose a serious threat to the South's populous metropolitan region and other areas.

U.S.-led talks aimed at ending North Korea’s nuclear program collapsed in early 2019 amid bickering over the sanctions. U.S. officials have recently offered a resumption of talks with North Korea without any preconditions. The North said it won't return to the talks unless the United States first abandons what Pyongyang calls its hostile policy, an apparent reference to the sanctions and regular military drills between Washington and Seoul.

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani has no plans to relocate or reside in London or anywhere else in the world, his flagship firm Reliance Industries Ltd said, November 5, 2021, as it sought to scotch speculations over India's richest family dividing time between the UK and Mumbai. It termed reports of the Ambani family looking to make the 300-acre country club in Buckinghamshire, Stoke Park their primary residence, as "unwarranted and baseless speculation".

Post Reliance acquiring the London property for Rs 592 crore, Ambani and his family's visit abroad have been linked to them making Stoke Park their second home.

They live in a 400,000 square feet Altamount road residence, Antilia, in Mumbai.

Dhanlaxmi Bank net profit falls 74 per cent in Q2

Net profit of Dhanlaxmi Bank declined 73.88% to Rs 3.66 crore in the quarter ended September 2021, mainly on account of rise in provisions due to a spike in bad loans. The private sector bank had posted a net profit of Rs 14.01 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

Total operating income declined 6.13% to Rs 229.01 crore as against Rs 243.97 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2020. Total income of the bank during the July-September period of 2021-22, however, grew to Rs 266.59 crore from Rs 249.66 crore in the same period of 2020-21

India's longest drone flight conducted in Haryana for HPCL, claims robotics firm

A robotics and drone company has claimed that it has conducted the longest drone flight of 51 km in India to survey the pipeline of the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) in Haryana.

Omnipresent Robot Technologies Founder and CEO Aakash Sinha told PTI that the 51 km-long flight of Omni-Hansa V5 took place on November 3.

The entire flight -- from take off to landing -- was fully autonomous, which means it was on auto-pilot.

HPCL wants Omnipresent to extend the range of Omni Hansa V5 to 100-200 km.

Omni Hansa V5 can take off and land like a helicopter so it does not need a runway. However, once it is in air, it flies like a plane.

The automatic qualifiers for the Super 12 stage next year were determined to be the winner and runner-up of the ongoing T20 World Cup, alongside the next six highest ranking teams.

Besides West Indies and Sri Lanka, Namibia, and Scotland -- all of whom competed in the Super 12s, will also start next year's tournament in the First Round.

West Bengal minister and senior TMC leader Subrata Mukherjee passes away

The senior Trinamool Congress leader Subrata Mukherjee died while being treated for cardiac ailments at a state-run hospital in Kolkata .Mukherjee, who was the state panchayat minister, was 75.

Mukherjee was an up and coming Congress leader of West Bengal during the time of Indira Gandhi's second term of prime ministership in the 1970s. He had formed a trident with other two Congress leaders - Somen Mitra and Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi.

Mukherjee and Mitra joined the Mamata Banerjee-led party in 2010 and 2008 respectively. While Mitra returned to his old party in 2014, Mukherjee remained in the TMC. Dasmunsi and Mitra died in 2017 and 2020 respectively.

India requests Pakistan to let Go First airline's Srinagar-Sharjah flight use its airspace

India has requested Pakistan to grant overflight clearance to Go First airline's Srinagar-Sharjah flight keeping in mind the larger interest of common people who have booked tickets for the route.

Pakistan on Nov 2 did not allow the Srinagar-Sharjah flight to use its airspace, forcing it to take a longer route and fly over Gujarat to reach its destination in the UAE.

Go First, previously known as Go Air, had started direct flights between Srinagar and Sharjah from October 23 and the service was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to the Valley last month.

Pakistani authorities had granted overflight clearance to Go First flights to operate the Srinagar-Sharjah sector on October 23rd, 24th, 26th and 28^th.

Pakistan put the clearance for the same flight on hold for the period from October 31 to November 30.

The airline's Srinagar-Sharjah-Srinagar service is the first service between Jammu and Kashmir and the UAE after 11 years.

Air India Express had started a Srinagar-Dubai flight in February 2009 but it was discontinued after some time due to low demand.

The Pakistan government, however, allowed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's special flight to Italy to use its airspace to attend the G20 summit. His return flight from Italy was also allowed to use the Pakistan airspace
