French superstar striker Kylian Mbappe will earn a record USD 128 million in annual earnings to top the list of the world's highest-paid football players, according to a Forbes magazine report.

The magazine noted Mbappe crossed the USD 100 million milestone at age 23 while such legends as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were in their 30s and at the peak of their careers when crossing that money mark for the first time.

Mbappe signed a three-year contract extension in May to remain with dominant Ligue 1 side Paris-Saint Germain.

Forbes reported the deal will bring Mbappe about USD 110 million for his salary and season share of a signing bonus plus an estimated USD 18 million in annual endorsement income from such companies as Nike, Dior, Hublot and Oakley.

Mbappe was on the cover of the EA Sports FIFA video game, founded the production company Zebra Valley and is an investor in fantasy NFT platform Sorare.

PSG teammate Messi, 35, ranks second at USD 120 million with Manchester United's Ronaldo, 37, third on USD 100 million. They had shared the top two spots since 2014 and still set the endorsements pace, Ronaldo at USD 60 million and Messi at USD 55 million.

In all, the top top-10 players will collect USD 652 million this season, an 11% jump from last year's USD 585 million figure. Mbappe, Messi and Portugal's Ronaldo together account from more than half of that money total.

Forward Uttam Singh will lead an 18-member Indian junior men's hockey team at the Sultan of Johor Cup, scheduled to begin on October 22 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a three-day visit to Gujarat from Oct 9  where he will launch various projects worth more than Rs 14,600 crore and address gatherings ahead of the state Assembly polls due later this year.

Modi will arrive in the evening and will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple projects worth about Rs 3,900 crore at Modhera village in Mehsana district.

He will also declare Modhera as India's first 24x7 solar-powered village.

The PM will also offer prayers at the Modheshwari Mata Temple and visit the Surya Mandir in Modhera.

Making Modhera as the country's first round-the-clock solar-powered village involved developing a ground-mounted solar power plant and more than 1,300 rooftop solar systems on residential and government buildings, a government release said.

Speaking at the event, Heavy Industries Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey said that the government is taking a series of steps to boost manufacturing through industrial revolution 4.0.

He added that the production-linked incentive scheme for advanced chemistry cell (ACC) battery storage will help India in cutting down its imports and become an exporter in the coming years.

Companies selected under the scheme will receive incentives under Rs 18,100-crore programme to boost local battery cell production.

The government has approved the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for 'National Programme on ACC Battery Storage' for achieving manufacturing capacity of 50 Giga Watt Hour (GWh).

The minister also flagged off 175 EV buses for Gujarat (75) and Karnataka (100).

He also inaugurated a Centre for Industry 4.0 (C4i4) Lab in Pune.

In 2019, Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India Phase II (FAME India Phase II)' for promotion of Electric Mobility in the country was approved.

Through the scheme, it is planned to support 10 Lakhs e-two wheelers, 5 lakh e-3 wheelers, 55,000 4-wheelers and 7,000 e-buses.
