PAN to become inoperative after March 2023 if not linked to Aadhaar

  • The Income Tax Department on March 30 said non-linking of PAN with Aadhaar by March 31 would attract penalty of up to Rs 1,000, but such PAN will remain functional for one more year till March 2023, for filing ITR, claiming refunds and other I-T procedures.

UN seeks record USD 4.4 billion for Afghans struggling under Taliban

US President Joe Biden planning to tap oil reserves to control gas prices

Axis Bank buys Citibank’s retail business

  • Axis Bank, the country’s third-largest private bank, has purchased Citibank’s consumer banking business for $1.6 billion or Rs 12,325 crore in an all-cash deal. Axis expects to secure regulatory approvals for the deal in nine months, following which it will integrate Citi’s retail customers with its platform over the next 12-18 months.
