The protesting wrestlers agreed to suspend their protest for a week after the government asked them to wait till police complete its probe into sexual harassment allegations against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh by June 15.

The wrestlers, after a nearly five-hour meeting with Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, said the government has also assured them that the police will withdraw the FIRs filed against them on May 28 when they marched towards the new Parliament building without permission to hold 'Mahila Samman Mahapachayat'.

The meeting was attended by Olympic medallists Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, her husband SatyawartKadiyan and Jitender Kinha.

Double world medallist VineshPhogat, a prominent face of the protest against the WFI chief, skipped the meet.

Hindutva outfit Bajrang Sena merged with Congress in Madhya Pradesh months ahead of the Assembly polls alleging the BJP had come to power in the state by cheating the people's mandate and has deviated from the path.

Bajrang Sena (BS) leaders are close to former minister Deepak Joshi, who had quit BJP to join Congress.

The merger happened in the presence of MP Congress president Kamal Nath.

Bajrang Sena was founded in Chhatarpur in 2013.

It used to agitate on religious and social issues.

Former prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has been booked under the anti-terrorism law in the murder case of a supreme court lawyer Abdul Razzaq Shar .

Shar was killed in a drive-by shooting in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, while on his way to the provincial high court, when targeted by the unknown assailants.

Shar's son Siraj Ahmad registered a case, accusing in his FIR that his father was killed at the behest of Khan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chairman.

Chris Licht, the embattled head of CNN, has stepped down from the news network "effective immediately," Warner Brothers Discovery announced as it appointed an interim leadership team.

The Union Cabinet has  approved the third revival package for BSNL with a total outlay of Rs 89,047 crore.

The package includes an allotment of 4G and 5G spectrum for BSNL through equity infusion.

Also, the authorized capital of BSNL will be increased from Rs 1,50,000 crore to Rs 2,10,000 crore.

The package comprises allotment of premium wireless frequencies 700 MHz band spectrum worth Rs 46,338.6 crore; 70 MHz of frequencies in 3300 MHz band worth Rs 26,184.2 crore; frequencies in 26 GHz band worth Rs 6,564.93 crore; in 2500 MHz band worth Rs 9,428.2 crore and Rs 531.89 crore for miscellaneous items.

Veteran theatre director-actor Aamir Raza Husain, known for his larger-than-life outdoor stage productions, died at the age of 66.

Having produced and acted in several plays, including over 91 productions and 1,000 plus performances with Stagedoor Theatre Company as its creative director, Husain was best known for stage spectacles such as "The Fifty Day War", based on the 1999 Kargil War, and "The Legend of Ram", inspired by the Hindu epic Ramayana.

He also appeared in the English film "Kim" (1984), based on Rudyard Kipling's novel of the same name, which starred Peter O' Toole in the lead, and the 2014 Bollywood movie "Khoobsurat", featuring Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.

While "The Legend of Ram", first staged in 1994, created waves with its multiple outdoor sets spread over 3 acres and a 100-member crew, "The Fifty Day War" went a step further -- featuring 140 actors, including Indian Army personnel, sets that move on rails, a life-sized helicopter exploding and a revolving platform taking an audience of 660-plus from one scene to another.

Hailing from an aristocratic Awadhi family of Lucknow, Husain was born in 1957 and was sent to Ajmer's Mayo College at the age 10 in 1968.

After finishing his schooling, he went on to study history at St Stephen's College, New Delhi, where he acted in various plays, rubbing shoulders with noted directors such as Joy Michael, Barry John, and Marcus Murch.

Husain was honoured with Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India, in 2001 for his immense contribution to theatre.

In 2010, the Delhi-based thespian revived his production "Move Over", first staged at the official farewell function of President Shankar Dayal Sharma in 1997.

It was staged in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata and several cities across India.

Notably, Husain once served as vice president of Delhi BJP.

He resigned from the post in July 2013 after his statement against the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi anguished the party leadership.

Husain is survived by wife-actor Viraat Talwar, and their two children KanizSukaina and Ghulam Ali Abbas.
